Valentine’s Day Spanish Conversation Activities

Here are two Valentine’s Day Spanish conversation activities for high school, university or adult Spanish learners. Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to spark fun and meaningful conversations in your Spanish class! With themes of love, friendship, and personal connections, students can practice expressing opinions, giving reasons, and sharing personal experiences in Spanish.

1. Valentine’s Day Spanish Conversation: Would You Rather?

This classic “Would you rather?” game is a fantastic way to encourage students to express their preferences and justify their choices in Spanish. The activity can be done in pairs, small groups, or as a whole class discussion.

How It Works:

• Present students with a series of Valentine’s-themed “Would you rather?” questions.
• Students must choose one option and explain why they prefer it using complete sentences.
• Encourage them to use opinion phrases such as Prefiero… porque…, Me gusta más…, and En mi opinión….

Example Questions:
