If you are looking into elementary school curricula, you should know that Spanish for You! has added additional lesson plans to their materials. Spanish for You! is a curriculum for grades 3-8 that can be used for self-study, home school, in classrooms or in after-school programs. It was created by a Spanish teacher as an affordable, easy-to-use program that engages children with the language and also teaches grammar basics. The Spanish for You! Lesson Guide already had a well-structured program with lessons, but these additional plans will give teachers more flexibility and options. These detailed lesson plans are for one-hour classes, but they could easily be divided for shorter classes. Teachers can use the lesson plans to hold class and then assign the corresponding work in the lesson guide as at-home practice.
The lesson plans walk teachers through class from greetings and a warm-up to wrapping up class and saying good-bye. There are instructions for the activities and a list of the materials instructors need.
Although teachers can choose and organize their class activities based on the material laid out in the lesson guide, these lesson plans facilitate the process. This will be especially helpful to homeschool parents and new teachers. It will also save experienced teachers time by giving them a structure to work from.
For now, lesson plans for grades 5-6 and 7-8 for the Fiestas package are available. Lesson plans for other packages will be available soon.
