Since the time I wrote this post, Northumberland Grid for Learning has begun to charge users who are not in Northunberland for the materials.
I will leave these descriptions, but remove the links because they no longer take you to the materials.
These seasonal activities are part of the Northumberland Grid for Learning from Northumberland, England. There are a variety of materials in Spanish, French and German. You will find these Spanish activities for spring along with activities for other seasons using the link at the end of the post.
Spanish activities – Slide shows
This page has two slide shows related to spring. The first is on planting a seed: Como plantar una semilla de girasol. There is another on the life cycle of a plant: El ciclo de vida de una planta.
Both of these presentations have clear illustrations and simple text. Based on the illustrations, children will be able to understand new vocabulary in context. In addition, The life cycle of a plant uses a repetitive sentence structure that is very effective for Spanish language learners.
Spanish activity – Craft
If you are looking for a spring or Easter craft, there is an activity for making a chick. The instructions are clearly written in simple Spanish. They are at a level that is appropriate children who are reading in the language. There is a photo of the chick too, so you will have an idea of what the finished product should look like.
Spanish activity – Easter in Spain
You will also find a PDF with photographs and a description (in English) of Easter in Spain. It is labeled Easter in Spain Gallery and there is another PDF with a short quiz over the information.
If you are thinking ahead to summer, there is a great resource manual with all kinds of activities for the theme En la playa (At the beach). Be sure to take a look!
