Kids learning Spanish can practice vocabulary and agreement with this photo collage based on the colors of the American flag. The common objects in the pictures are red, white and blue.
Here are a few ideas for using the photos with Spanish language learners:
– Read the descriptions. Try to find the photographs in the collage. (PDF below)
– Categorize the objects by color. Find and name the red things, the blue things and the white things.
– Given an object, find the photo and say what color the object is. This is good practice with agreement. (PDF below)
– Take turns describing an object without naming it and guessing which picture is being described. For example you could say Son rojos y se llevan en los pies to describe the red shoes.
The search and agreement activities follow the image of the flag. These are PDFs of those activities:

I tried this with a 2, 3, and 4 year old last week to reinforce the colors we have been learning, using the multi-image picture projected through the computer onto the t.v. screen (via HTMI cable), and they took turns identifying objects of different colors, then identifying specific items (la manzana roja, el pajaro azul…). They were very engaged by all of the images, and it was a great way to encorporate a lot of additional vocabulary that they haven’t had yet. Thank you!
