This story is an excellent introduction to Spanish vocabulary related to the four seasons. It is made for native speakers, and has audio, so it teaches children Spanish pronunciation, and listening skills. The images clarify the meaning of the text, teaching the important words associated with each season.

Es 21 de marzo. Llega la primavera. / It is the 21 of March. Spring arrives.
¿Ves las flores? ¿Cuántas flores hay? ¿Hay 4 o 5?
En abril, aguas mil. Llueve, llueve, llueve. Ten cuidado, no pises los charcos. Mira qué montón de flores. / April showers (literally, in April, tons of water) It rains, rains, rains. Be careful, don’t step in the puddles. Look what a lot of flowers.
¿De qué color son las flores en la historieta? ¿Qué animal está con el niño?
Los pajaritos construyen sus nidos. Usan pajitas y cosas suaves que encuentran por el campo. / The little birds build their nests. They use straw and soft things that they find in the fields.
La niña está muy feliz porque ve el pajarito y el nido. ¿De qué color es el pajarito?
Ya es 21 de junio. Llega el verano. Estamos de vacaciones. / It’s already the 21st of June. Summer arrives. We’re on vacation.
El niño está muy feliz. ¿Por qué está tan feliz el niño?
Vamos a la playa. Me encanta la arena. Y este año me atevo a meterme en el agua. / We go to the beach. I love the sand. And this year I’ll dare to go in the water.

Es el 21 de septiembre. Y mira cuántas hojas. Empieza el otoño. / It is the 21 st of September. Look at how many leaves. Fall begins.
¿Qué tiene el niño en la mano?
¡Viva, viva! Por fin volvemos a cole y vemos a los amigos. Ah, y ya hay castañas. Podemos hacer el maguestu. / Hurray, hurray! Finally we go back to school and we see our friends. Ah, and there are chestnuts. We can celebrate the maguestu (a traditional festival that includes collecting and roasting chestnuts).
Los niños van otra vez a la escuela. ¿Qué van a hacer allí?
Algunas árboles ya tienen fruta. Vamos a hacer zumo de manzana. / Some trees have fruit now. We are going to make apple juice. (Zumo is the word for juice in Spain. In Latin American, the word jugo is used.)
¿Cuántas manzanas hay en el árbol? ¿Cuántas manzanas tiene el perro?
Es 21 de diciembre. Qué frío. Ponte la bufanda que llega el invierno. / It is the 21st of December. What cold. Put on your scarf because winter is coming.
La bufanda de la niña es de varios colores. ¿Cuáles son los colores de la bufanda?
Y lo mejor de todo, llega la Navidad. / And best of all, Christmas arrives.
