A book celebrating the uniqueness of multicultural kids.

I am sharing Marisol McDonald Doesn’t Match/Marisol McDonald no combina as a part of the Read Around the World Summer Reading Series. The series is sponsored by Multicultural Kid Blogs. It is an opportunity to discover wonderful children’s literature and share our favorite multicultural books with other parents and teachers.

Along with being a wonderful story, Marisol McDonald Doesn’t Match/Marisol McDonald no combina is an excellent choice for children learning Spanish. The language is relevant and accessible. The narrative centers the vocabulary on family, clothes, food, and school. The story is in the first person and entirely in the present tense, with very few adjectives.

I am really enjoying the books I have discovered through the Multicultural Kid Blogs’ Read Around the World Summer Reading Series. You can find them all on the Read Around the World Pinterest board or by clicking the image below.
