Everyone loves a parade! Kids will have fun speaking Spanish as they talk about this photograph of a turkey float in the Thanksgiving Day parade. The questions that follow, like all the Learn Spanish with Pictures activities, are ordered to help children master the vocabulary and gain confidence with the language. Start with Describe the photo (1), and be sure to point to the objects in the picture as you talk about them. Use gestures, facial expressions and actions to help your child understand what the words mean. When your child understands the key words, ask questions from Choose the answer (2) and Pointing and counting (3). Ask the questions in Yes and No (4) to practice more of the vocabulary used in the description. If your child is comfortable enough with the Spanish words to produce them easily, include the questions in Say a little more (5). The questions in What about you? Este pavo enorme es una carroza en un desfile. El desfile es para celebrar el Día de Acción de Gracias. El pavo lleva un sombrero y tiene plumas de muchos colores.
Dos personas están muy alto en el pavo. Las personas están vestidas de peregrinos. El hombre lleva ropa azul y un sombrero negro. La mujer lleva ropa anaranjada. Los dos llevan guantes blancos y zapatos negros. Hay cuatro personas vestidas de peregrinos en la parte de abajo de la carroza. Saludan con la mano a las personas que miran el desfile.
