Patricia and Silvia, please contact me at playground . spanish @ gmail . com so I can send you the CD. ¡Muchisimas gracias a todos por leer Spanish Playground!
How about a great CD of Spanish songs for children as a gift this holiday season? Music with Sara is generously giving away 5 copies of her CD Canciones en Español to Spanish Playground readers.
I love using Sara’s music with Spanish language learners. In addition to teaching kids lots of Spanish, many of the songs are culturally relevant. For example, on this CD you will find the classic song La Llorona and also the musical version of the traditional rhyme El burro. Most important, Sara’s songs are fun to sing. Kids love El burro! They do not even realize they are practicing their vowels.
If you are not one of the lucky winners, or if you do not want to wait to find out, you can order or download the CD and individual songs here. Be sure to listen to Mi cuerpo; it is one of my preschoolers’ favorites!
You can learn more about Sara’s music on her website and follow Music with Sara on Facebook. I wrote about another of Sara’s CDs here: Spanish Songs for Kids – Más Canciones en Español by Music with Sara
To enter the giveaway:
Tell us what one of your favorite songs to sing in Spanish is. It does not have to be a children’s song. Leave your answer in the comments. You can enter on the Spanish Playground Facebook page too, for a double entry, but please be sure I can message you there if you win. The giveaway will run through midnight (central), Sunday Dec. 16th. I will announce the winners on Monday, Dec. 17th.
¡Muchísimas gracias a Sara por compartir su música!

We love the one that goes “Un elefante se culumpeaba sobre la tela de una araña”
Probably because it was one of the very first songs my children learnt at Spanish nursery and they loved doing the actions to it …
“Tengo un mano, lo hago bailar, lo subo, lo bajo, lo pongo en su lugar. Tengo otro mano … etc ending with “ya no tengo manos, no se donde estan. Donde estan los manos … aquiiiiiiii” lots of little ones then frantically wave their hands in the air
Then they do the same with their feet …

Our babies in our Spanish music class love singing ‘el auto de papá’ with little steering wheels!
Lisa, What a great version! I always have ended that song with “Saco las dos manitas, las hago bailar. Las subo, las bajo y las vuelvo a guardar.” My preschoolers would love losing their hands!

“Que dicen los animales” by Hap Palmer right now! My five year old and my two year old love his bilingual album!
I love “Cielito Lindo”. We sang it together as a couple and as a lullaby to our baby when she was little. I liked it even before I knew all the words to it.

I love that one too…and we are so dating ourselves by admitting it!
