Spanish picture books teach children vocabulary and content.

When I was teaching my kids Spanish as they were growing up, I searched constantly for quality books. We spent our summers in Mexico and each year I came home with suitcases full of books. There are more books available in the United States now, but I still get excited when I discover excellent Spanish picture books, like the ones published by Languages4Kidz. Their books are available on the Languages4Kidz website and from Amazon.

Content-rich Spanish Picture Books

Languages4Kidz publishes many content-rich Spanish picture books written by Graciela Castellanos. One of best ways to teach language is to engage kids with content. As children hear stories about plants, sea life, or the life cycle of the butterfly, they learn vocabulary in context. The Languages4Kidz Spanish picture books correspond to thematic units included in most elementary curricula.

Learners of Different Levels

For Spanish learners, the illustrations, repetition and basic structures of the Languages4Kidz books create an excellent source of comprehensible input. The books also give teachers sufficient content to engage children who speak more Spanish and help them develop their language skills. At all levels, teachers can reinforce learning with extension activities related to the content and language of the stories.
